Black Button Distilling will launch its annual limited edition Lilac Gin on May 12 to mark the start of the Lilac Festival, officials announced Friday.

This year, the distillery—located at 85 Railroad St.—has made roughly 4,000 bottles of Lilac Gin. It will be ready for purchase at 11 a.m. May 12.

The product will be delivered to over 100 customer accounts across three states and purchases are limited to one case per person.

“Lilac Gin showcases our unique ability to create small batch seasonal spirits that are unique to our region,” said Jason Barrett, Black Button Distilling owner and head distiller. “We have received overwhelming feedback from accounts all over the country about our Lilac Gin, and if we could produce it year-round, we would.”

“But we have to use the flowers at the peak of their bloom – which we can’t do all year.”

Black Button’s Lilac Gin will be available for sampling at the Lilac Festival on select dates.
